We aim to ensure that Friends House is accessible and welcoming to all. The building was completed in 1927 and it is Grade II listed which means that there are certain access limitations. However, we are committed to doing what we can to ensure that your visit is as easy and enjoyable as possible. Guests with wheelchairs or mobility issues are advised to make themselves known to reception on arrival. Detailed accessibility information is available on the AccessAble website.
There are three designated on-street parking bays for blue badge holders on Endsleigh Gardens.
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.
The Bayard Rustin, Lucretia Mott and John Woolman rooms are located on the lower-ground floor. Unfortunately, these rooms do not have step-free access. Contact our events team directly to discuss your requirements. Please telephone 020 7663 1100 or email events@quaker.org.uk.
Accessible toilets with baby changing facilities can be found at the following locations:
You can enter the reception via the garden, from either Euston Road or Endsleigh Gardens. It has step-free access. The entrance to The Light is directly on Euston Road and has six steps. There is a street-level lift which provides access to the ground floor and upper level of The Light. The Quaker Centre entrance on Euston Road has eight steps with handrails along both sides, although the steps are quite steep. The Quaker Centre has step-free access via reception.
There are four lifts within the building. Reception: The two lifts at reception are too small to accommodate large wheelchairs. South corridor lift: The third lift is larger and provides wheelchair access to the first and second floors. North lobby: This lift provides wheelchair access to the upper level of The Light and first floor meeting rooms. This lift is also accessible directly from Euston Road at street level to wheelchair users. When entering this lift from Euston Road, it is necessary to use the intercom to contact the reception team, who will allow you to access the lift. Restaurant: This accessible lift for wheelchair users is located outside the reception entrance in the garden.
There is clear signage throughout the building to help you find your way around. Our staff are happy to provide assistance.
The Light and our larger meeting rooms have built-in hearing loops. Additionally, we have a portable hearing loop system which can be used free of charge in our smaller spaces.
